As you will all be aware, the government last night announced that all schools will close to the majority of pupils at the end of Friday, 20th March. As part of this announcement it was also stated that despite the closure, schools will remain open for pupils whose parents are key workers and vulnerable pupils (those who have a social worker) as well as SEN pupils with an EHCP.

Discussions have already begun and we are working with the Local Authority to plan for what this might look like for affected children. Of course, we are also awaiting further clarity and detail from the government, which we expect to be released over the next day or two. Indeed, it has been stated that a list of ‘key workers’ is due to be released.

It has also been confirmed that national exams will not take place in the summer series this year and that a different process will be undertaken to award grades to pupils.

We will, of course, update you with further details as they are confirmed.

Thank you for your continued support in difficult circumstances.
