Personal, social, health and economic education is a planned programme to help children and young people develop fully as individuals and as members of families and social and economic communities. Effective PSHE education is intended to help equip them with the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live healthily, safely, productively and responsibly.
In September 2016 we introduced tutor time every day of the week from 9.00am until 9.15am. This time will be used to implement the PSHE curriculum, one lesson will be taught over the period of a week.
We will be covering a range of topics including the media and young people, healthy choices, emotional and mental health, relationships, diversity, values, consumerism, personal finance, the future, employability and business and enterprise.
At St David’s Centre the health and well-being of each student is paramount. The school offers a student-friendly drop in service; this fully confidential service is offered by our school nurse. We encourage all students to access this facility about any health issue or concern.
